Lichfield District Council has launched its February half-term holiday programme, which includes its week-long Getin2it sessions, designed to keep young people active.

Trampolining, street dance, tennis, multi-sports, 'tri golf' and boxing sessions, run by former British champion Wayne Elcock, from Birmingham, will all take place.

Getin2it activities, which take place at a range of venues across Burntwood and Lichfield, are aimed at seven to 24 year olds, and do not need to be booked.

During half-term week, children can also have a go at designing and making their own moving model at automata workshops, which will run at Beacon Park’s Discovery Hub on February 16 and 17, at 10am, 11.30am and 1.30pm.

Each one-hour session costs £2 and places need to be booked by emailing parks@lichfielddc.gov.uk or calling 01543 308867. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Councillor Andy Smith, cabinet member for recycling and leisure, said: “We’ve got a great selection of activities for children and young people this February half-term.

"It can be difficult to get young people away from their screens, so having a go at our Getin2it sessions in Lichfield and Burntwood or taking part in a park activity, is a good way to get them out of the house and engaged in positive activities.”
