Van driver killed in A5 crash named as Liam Clark

The driver of a van killed in a crash in Staffordshire has been named as Liam Clark.

The crash involved a van and a Bateman agricultural vehicle on the A5 and Streetway Road, near Shenstone, at around 11.30am on Tuesday.

The driver of the Citroen van has been named by Staffordshire Police as 21-year-old Liam Clark, from Rosefield Road, in Liverpool.

A spokesman for the force said: "Liam Clark, aged 21, from Rosefield Road, Liverpool was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision between the white Citroen van he was driving and a Bateman agricultural vehicle.

"The collision happened at around 11.30am in Shenstone at the junction of the A5 and Streetway Road.

"The road was closed for around three hours to allow specialist collision investigation officers to examine the scene."

The driver of the Bateman crop sprayer was unhurt.

Photos from the crash site showed police examining the crop sprayer, which was left on Streetway Road, and the van, which ended up in a hedge.

Staffordshire Police is continuing to appeal for witnesses and anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision to contact them.

Witnesses can call Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 228 of September 10.
