Air ambulance spotted at Alton Towers after visitor falls ill

An air ambulance has landed at Alton Towers after a visitor fell ill while at the popular theme park.

The emergency aircraft landed at the Staffordshire attraction earlier this afternoon. (mon)

A spokesman for Alton Towers said that a guest had fallen ill and that "medical assistance was needed".

She added that the reason for the air ambulance was because of the theme park's isolated location.

The incident did not involve any of the rides at the park, staff confirmed.
