Kings Bromley’s Country Show is celebrating 100 years of the Kings Bromley Horticultural Society on Saturday.

The show, held annually in July, attracts around 3,000 visitors from across the National Forest and beyond.

This year the show's theme is ‘The Greatest Showman’.

And for the first time in its 100 years, this year’s show will feature a new music stage showcasing local talent.

In the main arena there will be a trapeze display providing a variety of aerial performances by The Above & Beyond Trapeze Troupe.

Mighty Smith, three times winner of UK's Strongest Man competition and fifth in the World’s Strongest Man, will be demonstrating his feats of strength in a strong man show tailored for family fun and possibly some audience participation.

And the H&M Dog Display Team, formed in 1984 and consisting of 10-15 handlers and dogs, will show off their skills and perform various sequences to entertain the crowds.

There will be a traditional Punch & Judy show with Professor Baubles and an internationally acclaimed magician and illusionist Andrew Van Buren.

Van Buren and his team will present a magic show for all the family as well as a have-a-go circus skills workshop.

For younger children there will also be The Bewonderment Machine and the Epic Children’s Funfair.

The Bewonderment Machine is an artist-built cycle-powered carousel.

The Epic Children’s Funfair will keep the little ones busy with their kidszone inflatable fun park and rides.

And the competitive marquee will be at the centre of the show and the organisers have devised classes to attract all ages.

Around the show field will be equestrian events, a vintage car display, children’s races, steam engine rides, farm animals, around 100 trade and craft stalls, plus food outlets offering a range of refreshments.

Ben Berrisford, group marketing manager for Knights South Staffordshire, welcomes the opportunity to be sponsoring the show especially in this the 100th anniversary year of the Show Society and said: "They have managed over the decades to maintain traditions whilst adapting to modern times to ensure the show evolves and continues to thrive.

"We are delighted to be contributing to the up-to-date element of the show by bringing along the brand new X7 - an all new model which BMW have not previously had in their extensive range."

Admission is £6 for adults, £3 for those under 16, under fives are free and £5 for concessions. A family ticket, for two adults and two children, is £15.
