Firefighters tackling grassland blaze near Chasewater

More than 40 firefighters are tackling two large grass fires at Chasewater Country Park.

Eight fire crews are tackling two blazes including one near the sailing club and another near the old vicarage.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said that five fire engines were at the scene with another three on the way following reports at 1.25pm.

The water carrier and a tactical response vehicle is also at the scene.

A spokesperson for the fire service said 'good progress' was being made at blaze near the vicarage while firefighters were still tackling the other.

A5195 has been closed by Staffordshire Police.
