Police officer given final warning over 'insensitive' language
A police officer found guilty of misconduct for using racially offensive language has been given a final written warning by Staffordshire Police.
The force's independent panel had been hearing evidence around the claims made regarding PC Andrew Goodwin throughout this week and came to a conclusion yesterday that he was guilty of misconduct.
He faced the hearing alongside two other officers who were found to have no case to answer.
The incident involving Mr Goodwin involved him using insensitive language which was overheard by other members of staff.
Deputy chief constable Nick Baker said: "We expect the highest standards of professionalism and integrity from all officers and staff.
"If and when this is called into question we take the matter seriously and work to ensure this does not happen again.
"I am clear that there is no place within Staffordshire Police for racism or prejudice and we will continue to address any behaviour that falls below the mark."
