CCTV images have been released in a bid to recover two lanterns stolen from a school.

The pair of art-deco lights were an original feature of Chancel Primary School in Rugeley which was built in 1936.

They were taken on Tuesday, March 7, some time between 10.30pm and 10.50pm.

Footage, now released from the school, shows two suspects on the school grounds at that time.

The pair are both wearing beanie-style hats and appeared to know what they were looking for as they came armed with tools which they used to prise off the lanterns.

Headteacher Tina Blankley has previously told the Express & Star that the school community has been left 'devastated' by the incident and is desperate for any information which could lead to the possible recovery of the items.

Anyone with any details should contact Staffordshire Police 101.
