Newport Photographic Club has held its first competition of 2025.

The contest was distinguished by the geographical area covered and included images takin in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Dubai, USA, Japan and France.

It was judged by Mike Sharples from Smethwick Photographic Society, who gave a helpful critique of the images with some sound advice on how the pictures might be improved and how photographic technique and post processing could help.

In addition to the competition, the club had an entertaining travelogues evening with five members giving illustrated talks on China, Austria, the Greek Islands, North West Scotland and Turkey.
