David Jennings says he was trying to help the bus driver

David Jennings, 62, said a police incident blocking New Road in Bridgnorth at about 5pm on Saturday forced the 297 Alveley to Kidderminster bus to make a tight U-turn.

Mr Jennings, who was behind the bus in a queue of traffic, said the passenger vehicle found itself stuck due to the road layout and traffic restrictions.

He said: "Traffic was building up behind me so I got out of my car and went and had a chat with the bus driver.

"I suggested that if I stopped the traffic on the High Street, he could pull forwards and I would then bank him [give signals] to help him back into the top of Cartway so that he could get in a position to drive down Listley Street."
