Eagle-eyed hospital nurse seizes crisp packet with illegal 'hidden surprise'

An eagle-eyed NHS nurse at a hospital in the Black Country has seized a packet of crisps with a "hidden surprise" inside.

Officers from West Bromwich Police swooped on the hospital – the identity of which has not been revealed – on Saturday to seize the item.

The packet of Walkers' Wotsits contained suspected Class A drugs which were taken and destroyed by West Midlands Police.

A spokesman for the force said: "Officers from West Bromwich Police attended a hospital today where an eagle-eyed NHS nurse had intercepted a packet of crisps with a hidden surprise inside.

"Suspected Class A seized and destroyed."
