130-plant cannabis farm found in West Bromwich property
A West Bromwich cannabis farm with around 130 plants was found by police after heat was detected by a drone.
The discovery was made after a raid by West Midlands Police in Walsall Road on Thursday morning.
Police also found "dangerously by-passed electrics" at the property.
Officers initially believed the grow included 75 cannabis plants – but they later discovered there was an overall total of 130 after more saplings were discovered in the loft.
The West Bromwich police team said: "This morning West Bromwich Police executed a drugs warrant with help from West Midlands Police drone pilots at an address on Walsall Road where we discovered 75 cannabis plants and dangerously by-passed electrics.
"Our investigation has commenced into finding those responsible! Suspect it? Report it!"
They added: "There were a total of 130 plants in the end as we found some saplings hiding in the loft."
WMP Eye in the Sky later added on Twitter: "Following a positive thermal flyover, today West Midlands Police drone pilots have assisted West Bromwich Police to execute a drugs warrant – great result all round."
