Car wreckage left at roadside after fire in West Bromwich
A car which left the road and hit a tree has been left burned-out on a pavement in West Bromwich.
The vehicle has been sat on a grass verge and pavement off Newton Road, West Bromwich, since the crash took place at about 12pm on Boxing Day.
A patient was assessed by paramedics at West Midlands Ambulance Service at the scene, but did not require hospital treatment.
Now, days later, the car has been destroyed in a suspected arson attack.
The car was set alight in the early hours of Monday, December 30.
A spokesman from West Midlands Fire Service said: “We received a call on December 30, at around 2.49am. We sent one crew from West Bromwich fire station to the scene.
“The vehicle was well alight when crews arrived. We were there until 4.03am and used a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.
“The police were requested to attend due to the fire service’s suspicions it was started deliberately.”
Concerns have now been raised that the car is a hazard.
