Road closed as lorry gets stuck under West Bromwich railway bridge
A lorry has become stuck under a West Bromwich railway bridge, closing the road just before rush hour.
The vehicle became stuck under the Bromford Road bridge just after 3pm today.
Trains had to run at a reduced speed after the crash, but it was cleared about an hour later, Cross Country Trains tweeted saying.
Mark Masterson, from nearby BGN Boards, said four vehicles got stuck under the bridge last week alone.
He said: "Four times last week different vehicles got stuck, this is the first time this week.
"One vehicle brushed the bridge this morning, now the whole road is blocked off.
"It's now closed both sides while they try and get the vehicle out, the traffic must be bad both ways.
"There are clear signs saying the height limit, it's blatant. I think drivers just go for it anyway.
"It can affect our business sometimes but it's not majorly affected."
Sandwell Council has been contacted to comment.
