Wester Brown, who has worked in security for 21 years, impressed an audience at a Black Country shopping centre.

A video of him strutting his stuff have been shared hundreds of times online, with Mr Brown getting plenty of backing.

However, he admitted his dancing skills haven't come out of the blue, as 40-year-old Mr Brown used to be a break-dancing instructor.

He was egged on by the crowd at an event at West Bromwich's New Square shopping centre over the weekend.

Given the chance to strut his stuff he lived up to expectations.

Father-of-three Mr Brown, who lives in Birmingham, said: "At the time I was in charge of the speaker system and I saw one of the models in a lift.

"There was some music on and I just started dancing and she said 'you could do our show' but I thought they were joking.

"Then the announcer put me on the spot but I started doing it and it was great – then they called me back for a grand finale as well.

"There were a few nerves at first. But when they asked me to go again I thought 'why not?'"

Mr Brown said it was good to be able to prove to people there was a person behind the hi-vis jacket.

He told the Express & Star security work can be challenging but he always likes to do it with a smile on his face.

Mr Brown said: "It's a bit like when you see police officers dancing – it shows they are human and can enjoy themselves.

"It's not just a badge there is a person behind it.

"Down here we like to see ourselves as a community more than anything, rather than being people who tell others what to do.

"Customer service is really important.

"My dancing was a bit of fun for everybody. We had a great turn-out and afterwards everybody who was asking if I was the one who was dancing.

"It was great to make people happy – that's the main thing we want to do, bring happiness to everybody.

"Even if I tell someone to stop smoking I say it with a smile and hopefully they will be smiling afterwards as well."
