Today WMFS issued an update saying: "Crews were on site at the flooding in the Leabrook Road area until the early hours of this morning. Fire Service personnel also aided in water distribution from the Gallagher Retail Park.

"The scene was handed over to South Staffs Water (SSW) at 2am with the water level significantly reduced.

"South Staffordshire Water worked throughout the night to repair the burst water main. It has now been confirmed that water has been restored to all customers. Customers may see discolouration, and should run taps until the water runs clear. Discoloured water should NOT be drunk or used in cooking.

"Some customers in a small part of Tipton may experience interruptions to their supply whilst SSW continue working in the area. A generator was set up last night by National Grid for the handful of residents still without electricity. They will be reconnected today."

The update added: "WMFS crews have returned to the church on Leabrook Road North this morning to assist with standing water in the cellar. SSW will be involved in a clean up operation of leaves and debris today, which will help the natural drainage of the remaining water.

"Roads still remain closed. Please refer to Travel for West Midlands for updates: https://disruptions.tfwm.org.uk/."

Access to Metro services blocked in Wednesbury

West Midlands Metro confirmed the flooding had affected Wednesbury Parkway Metro Station.

They tweeted: "Due to road closures in the area, the entrance to the park and ride car park at Wednesbury Parkway is not accessible. Please use alternative park and ride facilities along our network until further notice.
