Tributes paid to Wednesbury firm's sales manager who died in 'terrible' Ironman tragedy

Staff at a Wednesbury firm and directors, players and fans of a football club have been left stunned by the death of a man in an Ironman contest.

Brendan Wall, aged 45, had worked at Top Tubes Limited, Wednesbury since May and had overall sales and marketing responsibility for the firm.

He was one of two competitors who died after taking part in the swimming section of the Ironman contest Youghal, Co Cork on Sunday. Ivan Chittenden, aged 64, from Ontario, Canada also died in a separate incident.

Only two weeks ago, Mr Wall visited Stourbridge FC with Top Tubes Limited managing director April Pearson-Myatt as the firm sealed a sponsorship deal with the Southern League club,
