The properties have been earmarked for Oxford Way, in Tipton.

The applicant, Mr Rafiq, wants to build three three-bedroom semi-detached homes, two four-bedroom detached homes and four four-bedroom town houses.

Currently the land is vacant and consists of trees and plants. It is nestled between houses and the busy Birmingham New Road.

Under proposals, Oxford Way would be extended with a new access road to the homes, which would back onto the Birmingham New Road.

The planning application was submitted on July 6 and council bosses will make a decision on the plans at a future date.

A council report said: "The site is within easy access to the local amenities of Tipton with good transport links to all local and larger amenities and retail areas of Dudley, Merry Hill and Wolverhampton with good transport links to the motorway network."
