Cyclist killed in Tipton crash named as Artur Strzavkowski
A cyclist who died nearly three weeks after a collision in the Black Country has been named as Artur Strzavkowski.
Mr Strzavkowski was hit by a car on Park Lane East on Wednesday, December 18, shortly before 5pm.
He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, but sadly died on Sunday.
Artur, from the Tipton area, was struck by a Nissan Qashqai inside the tunnel heading towards Lower Church Lane. The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries.
Paying tribute to the 39-year-old, his family described him as a "loving husband and father, a wonderful friend, who left us far too early".
Officers from West Midlands Police investigating the collision continue to appeal to anyone with information, which help piece together the moments leading up to Artur's death.
Sergeant Dean Caswell, from the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We want to thank everyone who has got in touch with us so far, however we need anyone else who witnessed the collision to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
"In particular, we want to hear from anyone with dashcam footage that may have captured the moments before or after the collision.
"I am still appealing to speak to the occupants of a car who exited the tunnel just before the collision as well as an Asian man who helped the cyclist at the scene and provided his jacket to the victim."
Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident number 1798 of December 18.
Alternatively, witnesses can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
