Deadly Tipton flat fire was caused by electric heater
A flat fire in Tipton which claimed the life of a man was started accidentally and involved a portable heater, it has been revealed.
Fire crews were called to the blaze at the home in Jay's Avenue, in Dudley Port.
A man, aged in his 50s, was killed.
Police were called to the scene at around 6.50am yesterday.
Firefighters from Tipton and West Bromwich attended the blaze and managed to contain the fire to stop the spread to neighbouring homes.
An investigation is under way into the cause.
