Court appearance for man accused of Shrewsbury DPD murder

One of the men accused of killing a DPD worker in Shrewsbury earlier this month has appeared in court and applied for bail.

Arshdeep Singh, 24, of Shaw Road in Tipton, was one of four Black Country men due to appear before Judge Michael Chambers KC at Stafford Crown Court sitting at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Wednesday.

Along with Manjot Singh, 24, of Greenfield Road, Smethwick; Jagdeep Singh, 22, of Goodrich Mews in Dudley; and Shivdeep Singh, 26, of Greenfield Road in Smethwick, the four men are accused of the murder of 23-year-old Aurman Singh in Berwick Avenue, Shrewsbury on August 21.

The DPD worker, from Smethwick, was killed while delivering parcels in the Coton Hill area of the town.

Appearing before video link from prison, Mr Arshdeep Singh was the only one of the four men produced on Friday, and he spoke only to confirm his name and address.
