Fire takes place at Black Country shopping centre
A fire broke out on a stairwell at a Black Country shopping centre.
Emergency services were called to West Cross Shopping Centre, in Smethwick, just after 5pm on Monday [23].
The blaze is not being treated as arson and there are no reports of injuries.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to West Cross Shopping Centre at just after 5.10pm to a fire on a stairwell.
"The fire service are confident it is not arson."
West Midlands Fire Service sent four fire engines to the scene having received a call at 5.08pm.
Photos from the scene showed the area cordoned off with fire, police and ambulance services in attendance.
