Man still in serious condition after being hit by car in Smethwick
A man remains in hospital in a serious condition after he was hit by a car in Smethwick.
The crash took place in Rolfe Street, at the junction with Tollhouse Way, just before noon on Saturday.
The 41-year-old victim sustained serious injuries to his head and legs in the collision, which took place near Smethwick Rolfe Street station.
A 22-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs has since been released under investigation.
In a statement on Monday, a spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "The injured man remains in a serious but stable condition.
"The man arrested has been released under investigation while enquiries continue."
