Photographic walk on canals to take place
A photographer with 40 years of experience will be leading a walk around Black Country canals tomorrow.
Kevin Maslin will meet budding photographers at Smethwick Rolfe Street Station on Saturday at 10am and lead them on a walk around the canals and show them the best places for pictures.
He said: "The reason for it is that lots of photographers tend to photograph the more rural canals and avoid the ones close to towns so what I like to do is take them to the places they wouldn't necessarily go on their own and show them around the place and give them advice.
"It's one walk of a few I've done recently and there's more to come.
"It'll take about two to three hours, it's a couple of miles.
"It's open to everybody really, anybody that's interested in photography or canals.
"It's a lovely spot down there, you wouldn't believe you're in the middle of Smethwick. It's absolutely fantastic, we can get to see some lovely sites.
"It's one of my favourite subjects and I like introducing people to it.
"We're going to be looking at historic bridges, locks and nice areas."
