The haul of plants was uncovered from a farm on Rolfe Street.

Police described the set-up as a 'large industrial sized cannabis factory'.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Officers are currently investigating a large cannabis set up thought to be worth around a million pounds, which was found yesterday in Rolfe Street, Smethwick.

"Enquiries remain on-going and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting log 703 of 21 February."

Pictures taken from the scene shows dozens of cannabis plants lined up in rows.

Lighting equipment and what appeared to be ventilation tubes were seen inside the premises.

Elsewhere in the Black Country officers uncovered 198 plants following a raid at an address in Dudley.
