Gas cylinders at risk in car blaze
Explosive gas cylinders were at risk of igniting when a car burst into flames.
Two fire crews descended on the scene on Steel Bright Road in Smethwick at around 4.50pm on Friday.
The vehicle blaze was located to the back of a garage.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokeswoman said: "Acetylene cylinder are basically gas cylinders which are an explosion hazard.
"They had been exposed to the heat of the fire."
Smethwick Fire further posted on Twitter: "We are currently dealing with a garage fire with @HandsworthFire. Acetylene cylinders involved."
WMFS was unable to confirm the cause of the blaze or the extent of the damage.
Fire crews left the vehicle in the hands of the owner and came away around 7.45pm that evening.
