Quad bike rider rescued after falling 20ft down steep bank

A quad biker suffered serious injuries after falling 20ft down a steep embankment in Rowley Regis.

The man, aged in his 60s, was found on land off Moor Lane, near to Rowley Regis Hospital on Thursday afternoon.

Specialist paramedics and the Midlands Air Ambulance was called to the scene at around 4.50pm.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman Claire Brown said: “Upon assessment ambulance staff found he had sustained potentially serious injuries and administered treatment to help stabilise his condition on scene."

She said that due to the man’s precarious position on the steep slope the man had to be place on a specialist stretcher.

He was lifted up the slope using ropes with the support of firefighters who were called to help.

The man was then taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital for more treatment.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said:"The motorcyclist, aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains in a critical collision."
