Crews in Sandwell were called to Dudley Road, in Oldbury, at 3.57pm on Friday.

A total of 60 tons of waste was located at the site and 40 per cent of that was on fire.

An initial crew from Oldbury attended the scene on a brigade response vehicle before more help arrived on a fire engine from Tipton.

The cause of the blaze is not known.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service added: "Please do not fly tip your rubbish."
