Hundreds flock to Cradley Heath Model Railway Club's exhibition
An exhibition proved to be even better than the rail thing for model railway enthusiasts.
Hundreds of people attended Cradley Heath Model Railway Club's annual exhibition at the weekend.
Nineteen different railway layouts were on show at the event, which also saw displays from clubs and individuals.
The exhibition, which was the fifth organised by the club, was held at Cradley Heath Community Centre, in Reddal Hill Road, on Saturday.
Exhibition manager David Stringfellow said: "It's a one-day show and the exhibition was opened by Ned Williams, the modeller, historian and author.
"We've done it every year in October for the last five years.
"Getting around 400 people through the doors would mean we got more than we did last year.
“We are a group of enthusiasts from different backgrounds and ages.
“There will be 19 different layouts of different sizes and scales, some European, then some English, Scottish and Welsh.
"In addition we had traders who come to these exhibitions to sell products associated with the model railways."
The event ran from 10am to 5pm.
The club meets three times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7pm to 10pm – at the community centre.
Anyone interested in joining, whether experienced or beginners modellers, are encouraged to attend and see if it is for them.
