Football matches on council pitches in Sandwell cancelled due to icy conditions
Football matches on council sports pitches in Sandwell have all been cancelled due to temperatures plummeting and a weather warning being in place.
Sandwell Council said the Met Office's weather warning for snow and ice – which lasts until Monday – was the cause of this weekend's cancellations.
It will affect matches played at Barnford Park, Britannia Park, Bearmore Playing Field, Cakemore Playing Field, Charlemont Playing Fields and Churchfields Playing Fields.
And Hydes Road Playing Fields, Jubilee Park, Lion Farm Playing Fields, Red House Park, Tividale Park and West Smethwick Park will all be affected.
