The teenagers, who are all from Sandwell and Dudley, have been working tirelessly in their free time to spread some positivity to elderly and vulnerable residents.

Supported by PILOT IMS, a provider of the National Citizen Service (NCS) in the area, the youngsters tasked themselves with delivering up to 300 presents and cards of positivity to bring a touch of festive cheer.

Bradley Pogson, NCS programme manager, said: “The young people over the coming weeks have already arranged delivery of 75 selection boxes to the Children’s Ward at Russell’s Hall Hospital Dudley, and care packages for residents in local care homes including Cower Gardens and Allenbrook in Dudley.

“Given the difficult time and the sheer amount of effort and passion of young people we wanted to show how proud we are of them from their project and how well the community has benefited from this.”

NCS assists young people to take part in social action projects that benefit their community, while learning useful life skills. The young people have been at the forefront of the entire project.
