Uhura and Lacutus now live in Sandwell

The trio were found in Musgrave Road, in Winson Green, Birmingham, when a woman noticed a bin liner appear to move when she walked past on September 30.

She went to explore and found the three-month-old kittens inside – and called the RSPCA. The trio were taken into the care of the animal welfare charity’s Birmingham Animal Centre.

Cheryl Hague and Arthur

RSPCA press officer Cheryl Hague and her 13-year-old daughter, Zoe, have adopted a ginger and white male – who they have called Arthur. His ginger markings reminded them of the character Arthur Shelby from their favourite television show, the Peaky Blinders.

Arthur’s siblings have been rehomed by couple Matt Kelly, 38, and Jessica Quansah, 40, who live in Sandwell.

Their black female kitten has been named Uhura and the black and white brother Lacutus, after characters in Star Trek as Matt is a big fan of the popular Sci-Fi series.
