Man killed in Quinton crash named as 'devoted father' Nicholas Brown

A man who died in a crash in Quinton has been named as Nicholas Brown.

Mr Brown, 46, was struck by a VW Golf in Hagley Road West, on the into city carriageway between Wood Green Road and Stanley Road, at around 10pm on Friday, November 27.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was confirmed dead at the scene.

Today, Mr Brown's devastated family have paid tribute to him.

In a statement, they said: "Nicholas was a loving son and brother, a much loved husband and a devoted father to his sons.

"He was tragically killed as a result of a road traffic collision on November 27.

“As a family we ask that our privacy is respected at this sad time.”

A 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and being unfit through drink or drugs has since been released under investigation.

Sergeant Dean Caswell, from West Midlands Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, added: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Brown’s family and friends at this difficult time.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and has not spoken to us already. We are particularly interested in anyone who was in the area and has dash cam footage."
