Palminder Singh Kalkat, from Bilston, was driving a black VW Golf when it collided with a Jeep Cherokee on the A41 Black Country New Road, Wednesbury, on December 6.

The 37-year-old, as well as 21-year-old William KaiBristow, from Dudley, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The inquest on Mr Kalkat opened on December 17, with the inquest for Mr KaiBristow opening on December 23. Both were adjourned and a pre-inquest hearing was held this morning.

But area coroner Joanne Lees, at a hearing at Black Country Coroner's Court in Oldbury, said: "My investigation continues whilst the police continue to investigate and as it continues, I'm not in a position to resume the inquest."

Another pre-inquest hearing will take place on March 3 at 10am.
