Great Barr pub badly damaged in suspected arson attack
A derelict pub was badly damaged in a suspected arson attack - and now looks set to be demolished.
Five fire crews were called to the former Red Admiral, in Gorse Farm Road in Great Barr yesterday at 2.16am.
The blaze took over a large area of the 1950s-built brick building with crews still at the scene at 8am.
More than 20 firefighters were battling the blaze at its height, with 'multiple' fires said to have been going throughout the premises.
It took around two hours to bring the blaze under control.
West Midlands Fire Service has contacted Sandwell Council over possible demolition of the former pub as a result of the damage.

The pub is said to have been boarded up since its closure in August last year.
It was previously owned by Ember Inns.
