Shoplifter is jailed for snatching more than £2,000 worth of goods
A man has been jailed after he appeared before magistrates on New Year's Day, charged with stealing more than £2,000 worth of goods from shops.
Steven Parkes, aged 31, admitted a total of 23 shoplifting offences relating to incidents at two convenience stores and a petrol station in Stourbridge between October 4 and December 30.
The incidents involved numerous thefts at One Stop Stores, in Worcester Street and Hungary Hill, where goods including steaks, detergent and cleaning products, coffee, candles and lager were snatched. During other incidents involving the defendant the staff could not easily identify what he had stolen, the court heard.
