Latest book launched to raise funds for hospice
Entertainment business partners Rachel Chadwick and Will Phipps have released their second book about Fairy Flo's adventures and a percentage of the profits will go to Mary Stevens Hospice.
The enterprising couple, who run the Funtime Theatre entertainment company, produced a book in December based on the fictional Fairy Flo's adventures which proved a hit with readers.
Now they have released their second book, entitled Fairy Flo's Visit To The Dairy Farm, which is on sale through the Funtime Theatre website for £4.99.
They plan to donate 10 per cent of the profit from sales of the book to the hospice.
Rachel, aged 31, from Dudley, said: "When lockdown hit we could not go out as entertainers as usual and decided to write the book about Fairy Flo.
"The books have proved really popular and I think people have really got behind small businesses.
"Paul Burke, a friend from Burton-on-Trent, illustrated the book which was written by Susan Totney, from Stourbridge, based on characters we devised.
"We have also recorded some children's song and dance routines and party games which have been handed out to families connected with the hospice.
"We set up eight years ago offering entertainment for children's parties, nursing homes and pantomimes for schools and were well-established until lockdown.
"Although we are still limited in what we can do we are offering doorstep visits by our Easter Bunny mascot who will deliver Easter eggs in the Dudley and Stourbridge area.
"He can be booked via the website and will stand outside homes and be socially distanced.
"We have also been offering virtual pantomimes on our website since October.
"Now we have also teamed up with Wally Wombat, a popular local children's entertainer, and produced a 45-minute Easter virtual pantomime."
