Mother injured in hit-and-run near Stourbridge

A woman was injured in a hit-and-run near Stourbridge.

The pedestrian, aged in her 40s, suffered an injury to her leg in the collision in Hackmans Gate Lane, Belbroughton, after she was knocked to the ground.

She was walking with her young son on the road and facing the oncoming traffic when she was hit.

The driver, believed to be driving a grey or green car, failed to stop at the scene after the collision at around 3.25pm on Sunday.

West Mercia Police officers have now launched an appeal for information.

A spokesman for the force said: "We are appealing for witnesses or information following a collision in Belbroughton, Worcestershire. At around 3.25pm on Sunday 27 September, officers were called to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian at Hackmans Gate Lane.

"The pedestrian, a woman in her 40s, was walking with her young son on the road and facing oncoming traffic when a car, grey or green in colour, was in collision with her.

"The woman suffered an injury to her leg and was knocked to the ground. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

"Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has information relating to it to report it to us."
