20 firefighters tackle severe blaze at Stourbridge car park
Twenty firefighters tackled a severe blaze at a multi-storey car park in Stourbridge.
The fire, at about 11.30pm on Tuesday, involved an electrical substation in the concrete-based access ramp to the Rye Market Shopping Centre.
West Midlands Fire Service said it was believed to have been caused by a fault within the electrical supply equipment.
A fire service spokeswoman said: "Fire Control received a call at 11.29pm on Tuesday about a severe fire involving a substation located in a concrete based access ramp to the Rye Market Shopping Centre multi-storey car park in Stourbridge.
"Twenty firefighters from across four stations - Stourbridge, Brierley Hill, Dudley and Haden Cross - were in attendance, with the first crew arriving in just over four minutes.
"Two hose reels and four firefighters with breathing apparatus were required, along with a thermal imaging camera.
"The fire is believed to have been caused by a fault within the electrical supply equipment.
"Crews left the scene shortly before 2.30am."
