Warning as four Land Rovers stolen in one night in Stourbridge
Police are warning car owners in a Black Country town to be vigilant after four Land Rovers were stolen in one night.
The cars were stolen in the Stourbridge area overnight between Monday and Tuesday, West Midlands Police said.
The vehicles were taken from Wollaston High Street, Rectory Road in Oldswinford, Holly Grove in Stourbridge and Wollescote Road.
Police believe the alarms were disabled in under a minute before the cars were stolen, with each vehicle taken without the key.
West Midlands Police said there had been similar reports in other parts of the West Midlands and in Staffordshire during the same night.
They are advising residents who own these types of vehicle to take extra security measures, including buying steering wheel locks.
Stourbridge PCSO Neal Hunt said: "All of the vehicles have been stolen without keys and it is believed the offenders are breaking into the vehicle and disabling the alarm within a minute and making off with the vehicle.
"There have also been similar reports of the same offences happening on other parts of the West Midlands and Staffordshire during the same times.
"If there are any residents that own any of these types of vehicles can you please take extra security measures, including purchasing a steering wheel lock, this may help deter any thefts of this type.
"The offences are usually occurring overnight in the early hours, if any residents see anything suspicious during the early hours please ring the police and give a description of any vehicles and persons seen."
Anyone with information on the thefts should call West Midlands Police on 101, or 999 if the crime is in progress.
