Nixon James Smith went travelling in early October and was understood to have been living in Malaga until last month.

The 23-year-old, who is thought to be from the wider Stourbridge area, is believed to have flown from Malaga to Madrid on November 19 – but it is not thought he got on his connecting flight on the same day back home to Birmingham Airport.

Nixon last contacted his family back home in Stourbridge on November 17, but he has not been seen or heard from since. He had no possessions on him when he landed in Madrid.

His emergency passport was not used on the second leg of his flight from Madrid to Birmingham.

His worried family are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare as it is uncharacteristic for him to not have made contact – and are asking any of his friends who may have spoken to him over the last few weeks to get in touch with police.

He was last known to be at Madrid Airport on November 19 at around 10.30pm – the time of his flight back home.

Nixon is described as around 5ft 10in tall, of a slim build, with green eyes and dark, medium length curly hair which he sometimes wears tied up in a ponytail. He has a tattoo on his upper left arm and right wrist and also has nose, ear and eyebrow piercings.

British Police have requested CCTV footage from Madrid Airport in the hope of finding Nixon.

PC Alexandra Webb, from West Mercia Police, said: "Nixon has not made any contact with his friends or family in two weeks now and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

"We would also ask anyone who may have seen or heard from him to please contact police.

"No matter how insignificant you may think it is, any information is valuable."
