Keeper's Cottage; Bluebell Wood is opening this year on Sunday, May 6 and bank holiday Monday, May 7 to visitors.

Owned by Peter and Jenny Brookes, the 'quintessentially' English landscape, adorned with bluebells, can only be glimpsed for a few short weeks of the year.

During the past two years more than 1,200 people have visited Greensforge Lane to walk through the woods and enjoy teas and homemade cakes sold from the Brookes's own kitchen - and the couple hope many more will come again for 2018.

Peter said: “We have had a tremendous response from visitors over the past two years, with people travelling from as far as Leicestershire and Derbyshire to see the bluebells.

“But the majority of visitors are from the Black Country - and many have said that most bluebell woods are on private land these days and, as opposed to days of yore, cannot be accessed.

“We love people turning up to look at the bluebells in this quintessentially English setting.”

Over the past two years Peter and Jenny have raised more than £4,000 for the NGS. The charity has donated millions to charity in 2018, including £500,000 each to Macmillan, Marie Curie and Hospice UK.

Keeper’s Cottage; Bluebell Woods is based on Greensforge Lane, Stourton near Stourbridge and the garden is open 11am to 3pm both days.

Adults cost £4 and children are free.
