Sedgley Local History Society hosts a Black Country-based film and quiz night for its first meeting of the new year next week.
The society's Elaine Bouckley said the evening would feature interesting film footage centred on aspects of Black Country history, together with a couple of Black Country-based quiz rounds.
The event will be held on Thursday, January 9, at St Andrew's Church in Bilston Street, Sedgley, starting at 7.30pm.
All are invited to attend, and admission is £2.
The society's previous meeting, by former history teacher Quintin Watt, covered a century of tragic mishaps on road, water and rail in the days when health-and-safety regulations were non-existent. He talked about stagecoach incidents, canal drownings, runaway trains and trams revealing fascinating details of everyday life as well as the dangers of using public transport.
