Dudley Council has given the go-ahead for plans to demolish a conservatory extension at the Beacon Hotel in Sedgley, and replace it with a new, larger one.

But neighbour Sharon Raybould, whose house in Beacon Lane backs on to the pub beer garden, objected to the plan, saying her family had to endure noise and disturbance on a daily basis.

"The pub impacts on our family's use of our garden due to the noise which often continues until late night, and the constant invasion of our privacy from customers' children climbing on the trees and fence and looking into our garden," she said.

"We would have no objection to the existing building being replaced with an equivalent-size structure to make it safe, but we object to the larger replacement as this will bring more customers to the pub causing more disturbance to us.

"We are aware it is a pub, and there will be some noise, but we had to move here as it was an adapted property for my disabled wife and our autistic son who really doesn't cope well with the noise and invasion of privacy from the pub, and has led to arguments with pub customers in the past.
