Conservatory to be demolished at one of the Black Country's most famous pubs
A conservatory at one of the Black Country's most famous pubs will need to be demolished after becoming rotten.
The Beacon Hotel in the Sedgley area of Dudley has applied for permission to demolish a conservatory extension, built sometime around 1990, and replace it with a new, larger one.
The Grade II listed pub in Bilston Street dates back to the 1850s, and is a regular winner of Campaign for Real Ale Awards. In 2011 was judged to be one of the four best pubs in the country.
The conservatory built to provide a covered walkway to the toilets, which had previously been located outdoors.
