Phoebe Rutter, five, from Cotwall End Primary School, won MP Marco Longhi's Christmas card competition

Cotwall End Primary School pupil Phoebe Rutter’s festive and eye-catching design of Dudley Castle proved a real hit as it was announced as the winner of Dudley North MP Marco Longhi’s creative competition.

Mr Longhi visited the Sedgley-based school on Friday to meet Phoebe and present her with prizes.

Her drawing will now be printed on cards for Mr Longhi to send out – including one to Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other senior cabinet ministers.

Mr Longhi said: “On Friday I joined Cotwall End Primary School for a very special assembly in order to present five-year-old Phoebe with a prize for winning my Christmas card competition.

“My office were really overwhelmed with all of the fantastic entries from children across the constituency.

“But Phoebe’s festive Dudley Castle came first and will be printed on all of my Christmas cards this year, including the one I will be sending to the Prime Minister.

“Thank you to the school and to Phoebe’s parents for joining us.”
