Man critically injured after car ploughed into garden wall

A man was critically injured after his car smashed into a wall outside homes.

Debris was scattered into nearby parked cars by the force of the impact.

Emergency services were called to Sandyfields Road, in Sedgley, near Cotwall End, at around 4.25pm on Saturday.

A car left the road and crashed through a front garden wall.

A bystander spotted the car with significant front-end damage.

The bonnet and bumper were crumpled with the driver's side door left damaged.

West Midlands Police said the driver, understood to be a 50-year-old man, suffered serious injuries including multiple fractures.

He remains in hospital in a critical condition, said a force spokesman.

He added: "Other cars parked nearby were also damaged from flying debris from the wall on impact."
