Plans for car salesroom on old church site scrapped
Plans to transform a church into a car salesroom have been scrapped by planning bosses.
An application was submitted to turn the Christadelphian Hall, in Cinder Bank, Netherton, into a car sales building, but Dudley Council turned it down last week.
The hall is a single storey building with a car park to the side and is in a mixed residential and commercial area.
The application said that cars would be displayed on the existing car park and the small extension on the south facing side would be demolished and new double doors installed.
Highways expressed safety concerns due to increased traffic on Halton Street and Upton Street and as the site access is on a bend in the road.
Concerns were also raised that the current car park would be used for car sales which would mean that customers and staff would need to park on the road.
Council officer Helen Martin refused the plan over safety concerns.
