A total of 107 residents have now moved out of four tower blocks in Netherton.

Arley Court, Compton Court, Manor Court and Wells Court have been earmarked for demolition by Dudley Council.

The blocks tower above Netherton’s skyline.

But the blocks are set to be knocked down by 2023, as the cash-strapped authority deemed them too expensive to keep in operation.

It is hoped all residents living in the flats will be moved out of them by the end of the year.

Bosses decided the four blocks, which were built in the 1960s, were no longer sustainable, as they needed a minimum of

£9.1 million spent in the short term to get them up to standard.

The cost of the demolition and compensating tenants and leaseholders will cost the council £3m.
