Wetherspoon to take over former Kingswinford pub

Sixty new jobs will be created after Wetherspoon announced it would carry out a multi-million redevelopment of a former Kingswinford pub.

JD Wetherspoon has revealed they have purchased The Cross, in High Street, and will spend £2.6 million overhauling the site.

Building work is due to get underway on Monday with the pub set to open to customers by April 21, 2020.

The new Wetherspoon pub will create 60 new jobs.

Eddie Gershon, spokesman for Wetherspoon, said: "We are looking forward to starting development work on our new pub in Kingswinford.

“We are confident that the new-look pub will prove popular with customers of all ages and be an asset to the town.

“Hopefully it will also act as a catalyst for other businesses to invest in the area.”
