Ray Siviter shows off the forty eighteen foot sunflowers grown at his bungalow

Ray Siviter has grown 40 giant sunflowers in the back garden of his bungalow in Halesowen, with the highest measuring 18 foot tall.

The 82-year-old said he had taken to gardening as a result of ankle replacements which meant he couldn't go to rock n' roll concerts anymore and left him needing to find something to do, particularly when the Covid pandemic started.

He said: "I can't do rock n' roll anymore, so I took to my garden as I live on my own since my wife died and, during the pandemic when we were all in lockdown, I started gardening properly.
